Broadway Barks, the star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies, will return for an 19th edition in summer of 2017. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place in Shubert Alley with festivities beginning at 3 pm and celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters beginning after 5 pm.

Broadway Barks, founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, will help many of New York City’s shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of “homeless” dogs and cats in the metropolitan area. Each year at the fun-filled Broadway Barks, animal rescue groups and Broadway celebrities present adoptable pets to fans gathered in Shubert Alley. Funds raised from a raffle, silent auction, signed memorabilia sales, and donations are distributed to the participating shelters and rescue groups.
